Run a Women’s Health Rural Clinic for a Day
Your gift of $60 can provide access to a clinic for women, mothers, and children who otherwise lack access to health care.
Two thirds of our patients are girls and women, who currently have very little health care. In the last few years, we have expanded our team to include women public health experts, but more is needed. Challenges include malnutrition, lack of education around women’s health and maternity, a lack of women’s health supplies, and giving birth in muddy, rural areas.
We are working hard to expand our education for community health workers about how to counsel pregnant and recently mothers. We also want to train women to support birthing women who are unable to reach hospitals. This all requires training by American and Honduran experts, some new equipment, and additional recruitment of volunteers. And in 2024, we were able to finally add a part time traveling doctor, to work alongside the community health workers, address the most challenging cases, and give consultations to pregnant women. This includes more robust checkups, with blood sugar screening and ultrasound scans. (See a quick tour of a clinic here).
Our Honduran Community Health Workers volunteer their time to make these clinics a success. And thanks to donated medicines and medical supplies, your gift achieves an even greater impact. Your gift of $60 allows us to run a rural clinic for one day.
When you purchase the gift, We create a printable holiday card with enough space so you can add a message . We will send you the printable card via email.
We appreciate your gift and donation.
